Sacred Heart Altar and Rosary Society: The Altar and Rosary Society is the oldest, active organization in Sacred Heart Parish. It's purpose is to promote the recitation of the rosary. Each member recites one decade of the rosary daily. Membership is open to all men and women of the parish. Some of their activities have included Spaghetti Dinners, pirohy sales, cake bakes, and the preparation of ethnic foods for the church fesivals. Some members also assist, on a rotating basis, with the laundering of small altar linens. Women of Sacred Heart: The Women of Sacred Heart is an organization open to all the women of the parish. Members make significant contributions to the parish by such endeavors as the organization of parish socials to promote community in Sacred Heart church, the organization of committees to help different groups in need of help, such as St. Mary's Shelter, Intercessory Prayer Group, correspondence to the sick and shut-ins of the parish, and other worthwhile activities. The organization's meetings are held the first Monday of each month, except July an August. Legion of Mary: The Legion of Mary is the largest apostolic organization of lay people in the Catholic Church. The Legion of Mary makes its members better Catholics through a balanced program of prayer and service. Works include door-to-door evangelization, parish visitation projects, youth work, and other spiritual needs of the parish and community.
